Speech of the year!

And the winner is.... Greta!

On Christmas Day, Speak founder Huib Hudig, together with Jurjen Van Den Bergh, Julia Wouters and Laila Frank chose the best speech of the year 2019 in the program De Nieuws BV on NPO Radio 1.

The aspects the presenters and guests looked at were:

• Surprise (does the speech bring something new),
• Emotion (does he trigger emotions) and
• Impact (are many people aware of it).
  
  They had a wonderful top 3 with John Stewart, who stood up in the U.S. Congress for the first responders of 9/11, and Jacinda Ardern, the Prime Minister of New Zealand, with her enclosing speech after the attack in Christchurch.
  
  But the speaker they couldn't ignore this year was, of course, the girl who made an impact worldwide with her words "How dare you! A historic speech and the voice of a new generation wanting to take action for a better world.
