"Men start talking!
A surprising winner emerged from the election of the Speech of the Month at NPO Radio 1.
Jurjen Van Den Bergh and Huib Huidg, Speaks founder, chose this time not a politician or movie star but free fighter Paddy 'the Baddy' Pimblett. During an interview after a match, he grabbed the microphone to give an emotional speech in an inimitable Liverpool accent. He mentioned that his good friend Ricky had ended his life just before the fight and mentioned the stigma of men not being allowed to talk about their feelings. He encouraged them to do so. 'I'd rather me mate cry on me shoulder than go to his funeral next week.' The audience reacted with surprise, but applauded the spontaneous action. A perfect example of how you can take the stage to get your message across and put yourself on the map. "Menn staaht tòkking!

In second place was the speech by Liz Cheney, member of the Republican party and opponent of Donald Trump with a beautiful text in which she quotes Lincoln. There was also a place of honor for actor Beau Schneider for his speech at the Indies commemoration with a personal note for his late father.
